## What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a site leaves on your browser. Your browser sends it back with your next request, which is how the site recognises that the request came from the same person.

## The cookies this site uses

divortex-session: recognises your session while you fill in the contact form. Being able to complete the form over several steps, and to see the error messages meant for you, depends on it. It is deleted when you close your browser or when it expires.

XSRF-TOKEN: confirms that a submitted form really came from the form on this site. It is the security measure that stops another site submitting a form in your name.

Both are strictly necessary for the site to work, serve no advertising or measurement purpose, and require no separate consent under the applicable rules. That is why there is no cookie consent banner here.

## What we do not use

There are no advertising cookies, no retargeting cookies, no social media pixels and no third-party tracking cookies on this site.

We measure visits on our own server, without cookies. No IP address and no browser details are stored; an anonymous code regenerated every day is used instead, so the same reader cannot be followed from one day to the next.

We do not use Google Analytics or any comparable third-party measurement tool.

## Other things kept on your device

Your light or dark theme preference is kept in your browser's local storage. It is not a cookie and is never sent to the server; it only means you see the same theme next time you open the page.

Your language choice is part of the address, and is not stored separately.

## How to manage cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Where those settings live differs between browsers; they are usually under privacy or site settings.

If you block the two cookies above you can still read the site, but the contact form will not work: your submission cannot pass the security check.
